7 years later...EmilyWhen we bought our house 7 years ago, there were no window treatments and I exclusively used ikea blinds. Different styles for different spaces. I can say that the quality really differs between styles. I'm certain that these ringblomma blinds were a lot cheaper then. But we're now at the point where several of ours (in our dining room) are starting to break and I don't want to replace them at this price point! The plastic bar that the 2 little magnets are on becomes brittle and snaps at the magnet site after about 5-6 years. One is particularly bad and I can't get the magnet to connect because it slides around in the fabric sleeve. Can I make a replacement bar out of a dowel?? Will contemplate. I like the concept, but think about cheap plastic with constant UV light exposure...not a recipe for a lasting product, sadly. C'mon, Ikea! At least offer replacement plastic bars.2
Quick and easy to put up. No drilling required SuzetteBest shade. Great price! I wish they came in different colors. 5
Love them, except…DonnaThey’re exactly what I wanted, and I have them in several rooms. They’re bright, clean and fresh looking . After six months though, one of the strips has cracked. Wondering if that piece can be replaced and if so, where?
Also, trying to figure out how they could be easily washable when the strip needs to be cut out of the blind. What am I missing?5
Great for privacy KatieI hung this on my glass front door. I can see through the curtain from the inside and it lets in a lot of light, but people outside can't see through it. I'm very happy with this! 5
Cool shades but not pure white!BetsyI really like these shades. After looking everywhere both in stores and online, these were the best priced and had the clean lines I wanted for my bay windows. I really love the cool magnets that make them stay up. I agree with other reviews that the clip is really not needed. They actually are not that see through like other reviews say. Super easy to install, it took me like two minutes each window. Does not come with screws, but luckily I had some. Wish they were pure white though, these are more beige than white. That’s the only thing I’m not crazy about. But other than that, I really like them and plan to buy more for my other windows. Thanks IKEA!4
Attractive and inexpensiveJohnI bought one, loved it so much that I bought another and wish I needed more. It would be nice if there were more color options, but the green stripes look great and makes my home office look a lot more classy.5
Replacement Ribs Needed PatriciaAbsolutely love these shades. Have had them in the guest room and office for three years. A couple of the ribs broke in the guest room and the shades won’t stay up. If there was any way to buy replacement ribs these would be absolutely perfect. If not then they become disposable textiles which is unfortunate-the ribs being the weak link.4
Great shadesCharlenePlease bring back the green! I need more!5
Great concept shadeCathleenThese are perfect for my 1960's short windows. I would love them for other windows as well. If yoyu carried more colors or less translucent versions, I would buy more5
Great curtainIngridEasy to hang up.5
Works well for us!LarryWe purchased nine of these shades for our sunroom. It does exactly what we needed. Couple of things to note:
1) They won't give you complete privacy at night when the lights are on inside. Not a problem for how we intended to use the shades. Definitely wouldn't recommend them for a bedroom window.
2) The description says "block annoying glares on TV and computer screens." Doesn't block out enough light for projector/screen use during daylight.
3) You can remove the hooks and insert use with a regular curtain rod or tension rod (what we used).
4) If you have a large window and can't find the proper size consider buying two. We have a large 67 inch window and purchased a 34" and 32" shade and used it with an extra sturdy tension rod and it has worked great so far.
5) I love how we can lower the shades in the morning to protect our furniture from harsh direct sunlight while still allowing some natural light into the room.
These shades were a very economical option for our sunroom.5
I love it!KathleenI love the striped pattern. It fits so well on my window and the magnets hold the shade at just the right height.5
So easy to installAprilLove, love , love these for our enclosed Lanai.
Easiest ever to install. They do let light through but we like a bright room.5
Updated it with magnetsAnneI like the shade but was not so happy about the original solution to hang it. I added some magnets and removed the screw on top. Now it is hanging just with help of the added magnets.5
Roman shadesJeffreyExcellent at shading sun coming through the window. Magnets hold folds in place. Needs to have addition pleat between each of the existing ones.3
Please make these in darker options!CatherineLove this shade, fit perfectly on my door. Was considering $300 - $500 options and this ended up being THE best for what I needed: slim, low profile, and easy to take up and down. Now wish they'd also make one in a darker option / blackout option for the summer when the sun is too strong for them. Please!!5
Thin and cheapMistyPoor quality. Better get a tension rod to hang it1
Great valueKathleenThis is the second set of blinds I have purchased. They are just what I was looking for. The only issue I had with the first set was that the magnets in the casings eventually broke, and the blinds didn’t work as well. I’m hoping that they have improved the magnet quality or that I can at least get replacement magnets if needed.4
Functional an attractiveCassiEasy to install, love the ease of adjustment and the clean light-filtering look. Also appreciate that they are washable when needed. Great blinds.5
