깨달음의 체는 계율을 청정하게 지님으로써 얻을 수 있습니다. 이는 불교에서 매우 기본입니다. 계율은 우리의 정신적인 길의 근본입니다. 계율을 이해하면 계율을 유지할 수 있을 것입니다. 그렇게 깨달음을 얻을 수 있습니다. 계율을 지키지 않으면 깨달음을 얻을 수 없습니다. 그래서 대승에서는 깨달음을 얻을 수 있는 순수한 정도로 계율을 지킵니다. 깨달음을 얻기 위해서는 여러분의 계체가 청정해야 합니다. 그것이 불교의 비밀입니다.

우리 수행의 핵심은 관음보살법이라고 할 수 있습니다. 이 수행을 하면 깨달음을 얻을 때까지 더욱더 자비심을 쌓아갑니다. 여러분의 자비심은 빠르게 키워집니다. 화두만을 수행해도 깨달음을 얻을 수도 있지만, 깨달음의 단계에서의 자비심은 우리의 수행에서 얻는 자비심만큼 크지 않습니다.

The substance of the Enlightenment is arrived at by the purity of the maintenance of the holding of the precepts. It is so fundamental in Buddhism. The precepts are the foundations of our spiritual path. If you understand the precepts, you'll be able to maintain the precepts. That's how you become enlightened. If you don't hold precepts, you will not be able to become enlightened. That's impossible. That's why in Mahayana, we hold precepts to the level of Purity that enables us to become enlightened. For you to become enlightened, your precept substance has to be pure. That's a Buddhist secret.

The core of our practice is GuanYin Bodhisattva Dharma. When you practice those, you are building up your heart of compassion more and more until you become enlightened. So the core of that practice will speed up the development of your Compassion.
If you practice Hawdu alone, you may become enlightened. But eventually, your compassion at that level of Enlightenment is not as high as the compassion from our practices.
