We are looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to prepare individual and business tax returns, organize and maintain tax support, and file tax returns timely. Senior Tax Accountant responsibilities also include booking financial transactions, reconciling bank statements, and processing payroll. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with tax preparation, bookkeeping, and payroll. Excellent time management skills are essential to ensure our company meets filing deadlines.
Responsibilities
• Prepare individual and business tax returns
• Follow industry trends and track changes related to tax regulations and law
• Identify potential tax savings for clients and promote clients' financial well-being
• Recommend tax strategies that comply with laws and align with client goals
• Prepare necessary paperwork for tax returns and payments
• Manage client accounting transactions
• Reconcile client bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers
• Publish financial statements in time
• Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings and communication with clients
• Reinforce financial data confidentiality
• Process payroll and payroll tax filings and remit payroll taxes
• Assist in financial statement audits
Skills
• Proven work experience as a Senior Tax Accountant
• Excellent knowledge of tax and accounting regulations and procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Familiarity and hands-on experience with accounting and tax software (i.e. QuickBooks, Lacerte, ProConnect, etc.)
• Proficient MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
• Excellent time management skills
• Keen attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Professional interpersonal and relationship skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills
• BS in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree; industry certification (EA or CPA is preferred)
